➕➕OPEN LIST: BEST LINES/MOMENTS FROM MAD MEN➕➕

I'm working on my giant How Mad Men Changed My Life list so I'm crowdsourcing this one to suggestions. @Larabelle @almak @hannahstark @natasha throw some in!
  1. "People tell you who they are, but we ignore it - because we want them to be who we want them to be. When a man walks into a room, he brings his whole life with him. He has a million reasons for being anywhere, just ask him. ...
... If you listen, he'll tell you how he got there. How he forgot where he was going, and that he woke up. If you listen, he'll tell you about the time he thought he was an angel, or dreamt of being perfect. And then he'll smile with wisdom, content that he realized the world isn't perfect. We're flawed, because we want so much more. We're ruined, because we get these things, and wish for what we had." --Don Draper, "The Summer Man" (Season 4, Episode 8)
  2. Don putting his hand on Peggy's at the end of "The Suitcase" (Season 4, Episode 7)... really all of "The Suitcase" is flawless.
  3. "I can't turn it off. It's actually happening!" --Peggy, "The Gypsy and the Hobo" (Season 3, Episode 11)
  4. That walk Don does off set at the end of "The Phantom" (Season 5 finale, Episode 13)
  5. "It will shock you how much this never happened."
Season 2. Don to Peggy after the baby. This line has stuck with me and replayed in my head so many times.

  6. "Listen, I'm not here to tell you about Jesus. You already know about Jesus, either he lives in your heart it he doesn't."
Omg this whole pitch was insane. Season one!! Just wow this is how you fucking sell something. I remember the clients were stunned and ate it up. To me, this and the pitch about the photo carousel are what gave Don his sales reputation.

  7. Wendy: "Does someone love me?" Don: "What?" Wendy: "That's what your question was." Don: "Why would you say that?" Wendy: "That's everyone's question."
Then, with the stethoscope: Wendy: "I want to hear your heart. I think it's broken." Don: "You can hear that?" Wendy: "I can't hear anything. I think it's broken." --"The Crash" (Season 6, Episode 8)
  8. The moment at the end of "A Day's Work" (Season 7, episode 2) when Sally says, "Happy Valentine's Day. I love you," and the look on Don's face and "This Will Be Our Year by the Zombies" plays.
THE LOOK ON DON'S FACE. How does Jon Hamm have zero Emmys?!
  9. Sally to Glenn "When I think about forever I get upset. Like the Land O'Lakes butter has that Indian girl, sitting holding a box, and it has a picture of her on it, holding a box, with a picture of her holding a box. Have you ever noticed that?”

  10. Don "every time we get a car this place turns into a whore house." Just such a good example of the genius of the writers weaving dons own childhood into SCDP

  11. Don: "I worry about a lot of things, but I don't worry about you." Peggy: "What do you worry about?" Don: "That I never did anything and that I don't have anyone."-- "The Strategy" (Season 7, episode 6)
This entire SCENE! Their DANCE! The fact it's a whole remix of "The Suitcase!"
