Hi all! Planning a spring time NYC trip and overwhelmed by hotel options. Downtown is preferable but gimme your suggestions!
  1. Hugo Hotel
Good price point. Hip but not annoying. Wonderful location but also slightly removed from the pulse of SoHo

  2. Pod
I can't remember which one I stayed at, and I think there is more than one now. It was a really fun, interesting experience and super inexpensive.

I almost never use hotels anymore, TBH. AirBNB is almost always a better experience for less $$$.

  4. Crosby St Hotel, Dream Downtown, The Standard
These might be pricier than you'd like, not sure of your range, but these are hot spots. Right near or in the meatpacking district and amazing restaurants. Also right by the Highline! If you don't stay at these places, definitely check them out for a drink or a snack one day! (Crosby St does afternoon tea 💁)

  5. The Ludlow Hotel
Essentially a more chill and (slightly) more cheap Bowery. Bonus points for being very close to El Rey, Ivan Ramen, Sunshine Cinema, Metrograph...

  6. Airbnb
I spent a week by myself there and saved so much money by using Airbnb. You can narrow the search to the dates you're going, the neighborhood you want to stay in, and how much per night!

  7. The Standard High Line
In the Meatpacking District. Good location with good views.

  8. The Garden Hilton in Chelsea wasn't bad at all, under $200 a night and Chelsea is nice.

  9. The Bowery
A lot of good lists about it on here, too!
