10 THINGS I'VE LEARNED BY CUTTING ALL MY HAIR OFF

  1. 1. You will have a period of mourning for you hair.
  2. 2. There are some people that will mourn the loss of your hair more than you will.
    Namely my mother.
  3. She still calls to ask me about my growth process.
I used to have hair down past my boobs. Over the course of 6 months I slowly kept going in to get it shorter and shorter. They say that's how you should do it to not hate it. I say do whatever the hell you want.
  4. 3. Femininity is not provided by lengthy locks.

  5. 4. People will either love the bold decision
And I mean deep love. Like Tom Cruise on Oprah's couch love.
  6. 5. Oooor comment and say nothing more.
"You cut your hair." "Yeah." *moving on* 👀😒
  7. 6. The hair at the nape of your neck is really annoying.
Especially if your hair grows fast like mine.
  8. 7. There's a secret short haired girls' club.
  9. 8. Somehow short hair means more maintenance.
Scheduled hair cuts. Hair product. Heat tools. Hair accessories for sources of variety. It can be a bit much.
  10. 9. Your hair is not the source of femininity.
On here twice for emphasis. Perhaps the hardest lesson but also the best once it sinks in.
  11. 10. Do whatever you want. It's your head.
A lot of people will have a lot of opinions. Fuck 'em. Chop it off. Grow it long. Just do it for you.
