MY FAVORITE SONGS OF ALL TIME

My first requested list and boy, has it been a doozy to write! I know I'm leaving some out. Thanks so much for engaging with me, @nathanveshecco. 🎶
  1. The Avett Brothers - Will You Return
The #1 Most Played Song on my iPod!
  2. Langhorne Slim - Past Lives
This song is meant to be heard live. Nothing better than shouting, "I AIN'T DEAD!" repeatedly with your concert buddies at the top of your lungs with Mr. Sean Scolnick. I also love the live version of "Cut It Down" and "Love Crimes".
  3. Incubus - Consequence
Incubus reminds me of the summer going into my senior year of high school. Other honorable mentions are Make Yourself & The Warmth.
  4. Jason Isbell - Stockholm
Seeing his evolution as a musician and just a person as a whole has been amazing. He's just the best.
  5. Drive-By Truckers - Outfit
True story, I was so excited to see DBT live that I didn't realize Isbell had been removed from the band by that time and all my favorite DBT songs were Isbell songs.
  6. Justin Timberlake - Mirrors
One of my most played songs of 2014. I love all of JT's catalog but seeing him live and this song... MAN.
  7. Dave Matthews Band - Say Goodbye
I prefer the Dave & Tim Storytellers version. I chased this song for twenty-three shows. When I got it, I cried like a little baby. Other honorable mentions are Granny and Loving Wings.
  8. Foo Fighters - Everlong
It's gotta be the rockin' version too. The acoustic reminds me of an ex. It's no secret Dave Grohl is one of my favorite human beings of all time. The rest of the band is very likable too.
  9. Mark Ronson / Amy Winehouse - Valerie
I miss Amy so much and this is my favorite song she sang on. Love is a Losing Game is another favorite.
  10. Jeff the Brotherhood - Wood Ox
I have specific memories with this song so I will always love it forever. The lyrics, man.
  11. Best Coast - Each and Every Day
"Every day's the same. I feel like I am losing my mind. All I do is think about you all of the time. I don't even know why I care as much as I do. I just wish that you would tell me is this real or are we through?" This album came out in 2010 and what was I doing? This was my jam of 2015.
  12. Elliott Smith - Miss Misery
As performed by Jessica Lea Mayfield and Seth Avett. It didn't make the cut on their album but they did it for World Cafe.
  13. Sublime - Badfish
One of my better friends committed suicide while we were in college. I have memories of riding around with her in her car blasting Sublime. I ache for her and I also ache for Bradley.
  14. Tom Petty - American Girl
    Self-explanatory if you ask me.
  15. The Beatles - Eight Days a Week
I grew up listening to the 50s - 70s tunes thanks to my mama. We love the Beatles and this one is my favorite tune of theirs. When I'm 64 reminds me of long road trips too.
  16. Joe Pug - Lock the Door Christina
"Destined to misuse you. Determined to do you right. Lock the door, Christina. Better lock that door, Christina, I'm standing on your porch tonight." Gotta love a man that flat out tells you to shut him out before he does it to you.
  17. Next - Too Close
The video that solidified that there's nothing sexier on a man than a black wife beater. I just made that up but I loved this song. Came out when I was middle school. Can't believe I love a song about boners on the dance floor.
  18. Tracy Chapman - Fast Car
After seeing the Avetts in Nashville, I went out dancing with my friend at Tin Roof. The cover band was amazing and nice people kept buying me beers. Near the end of our evening, I said, "The only way this can get better is if they play Fast Car." IT HAPPENED. It was an Almost Famous Tiny Dancer moment I'll remember for the rest of my life.
  19. The Killers - Mr. Brightside
I illegally downloaded this song and had a terrible radio dub and the PURE EMOTION. Brandon Flowers, you're killing me.
  20. Billy Joel - Only the Good Die Young
For being 30, I've lost several people close to me and I believe every sentiment of this song.
  21. CCR - Bad Moon Rising
Reminds me of my youth. Saw John Fogerty a few years ago, he's still got it.
  22. Stevie Wonder - Signed, Sealed, Delivered
I had this song as my ICQ notification in middle school. When I went to Bonnaroo, seeing Stevie perform this about killed me.
  23. The Avett Brothers - Backwards with Time
    UGH so good.
  24. Boyz II Men - Motown Philly
I have vivid memories of being sick and staying home from school and laying on the couch with this CD on repeat through my sister's portable CD player!
  25. Mase - Feel So Good
My dad runs a basketball camp every summer for girls in 4th - 12th grade and I get to pick the music for cut throat and this wins every time. I'm teaching em young!
  26. Dire Straits - Walk of Life
I remember recording this song off of the radio on a CASSETTE tape. I also remember my sister walking in on me while I was dancing like no one was watching to this song.
  27. MGMT - Of Moons, Birds, and Monsters
I think that's the order. My favorite MGMT song.
  28. Nirvana - The Man Who Sold the World
I understand it's a cover but it's my favorite Nirvana song. Honorable mention is Dumb. I had this song on a playlist in college. Reminds me of my first apartment.
  29. The Wallflowers - The Difference
"THE ONLY DIFFERENCE THAT I SEE IS THAT YOU ARE EXACTLY THE SAME AS YOU USED TO BE." Words of wisdom from Mr. Jakob Dylan.
  30. Garth Brooks - The Beaches of Cheyenne
I HAVE TO SEE GARTH LIVE. I love his entire catalog. I'd even settle for Chris Gaines.
  31. Queen - Somebody to Love
Allegedly, if you die and make it to Heaven and if you're lucky, people that you idolize will stop by for a visit. I hope Freddie Mercury comes to see me.
  32. I gotta stop somewhere. I could so keep going though.
