1. The Washington Nationals - National League East Champions

They would probably be higher except to advance from the NLDS they have to go through the Cubs. I love Strausburg, Scherzer, and Harper. But I am still not over Daniel Murphy’s treatment of the Cubs when he was a Met in the 2015 NLCS.
  2. The Los Angeles Dodgers - National League West Champions
    Giphy
They have been amazing this year and if they don’t have to go through the Cubs they’d be higher, but if we advance we almost surely will play them and I obviously couldn’t root for them at that point/if they beat us I would begrudgingly support them.
  3. The Boston Red Sox - American League East Champions
    Giphy
I’ve always romanticized Boston and think being a Red Sox Fan is probably as cool as being a Cubs fan. They bought a lot of talent this year which I don’t love, but I wouldn’t be mad.
  4. The Cleveland Indians - American League Central Champions
    Giphy
Honestly they deserve it, they had an incredible and historic year. They own the longest World Series drought in baseball (😏) have an amazing roster and are easy to route for. They would be #2 except for how fucking obnoxious LeBron James was during the Cubs/Indians WS last year.
  5. The Minnesota Twins - American League Wild Card #2 (Likely)
    Giphy
They last went (and won) in 1991, and they are the ultimate underdog of 2017 playoff teams. I don’t care about them now, but if they managed to get there it would be impossible to root against them (unless they played the Cubs)
  6. The New York Yankees - American League Wild Card #1
    Giphy
I would love to see former Cub Starlin Castro win one with the Yankees this year. It’s so easy to hate the Yankees but honestly this is a different team, they didn’t buy it, for the most part they built this team.
  7. The Colorado Rockies - National League Wild Card #2 (likely)

For @andersun, and I’ve always liked Colorado. They have some awesome players that I love watching and respect. They were swept by Boston in 2007, and I could get behind a Colorado championship team, especially as a Wild-Card underdog. They would be one of two teams I could keep rooting for enthusiastically if they beat the Cubs on the way.
  8. The Arizona Diamondbacks - National League Wild Card #1
    Giphy
One of my early World Series memories was watching the newest team in the league, the 2001 Arizona Diamondbacks, win a World Series. They would be the second time I could still enthusiastically root for if they had to beat the Cubs on the way. Plus, I’d love to see them beat Los Angeles in the NLDS.
  9. The Houston Astros - American League West Champions

Their last trip to the World Series they got swept by the White Sox. Given everything that happened in Houston, I think this would be awesome for the city and something everyone could rally behind after Hurricane Harvey.
  10. The Chicago Cubs - National League Central Champions (likely)
    Giphy
My team, and the possibility of a repeat is so exciting. After a rough start, we had one of the best post-World Series teams in baseball history. If we can stay hot, we have all the pieces in place to make this a dynasty.
