DECEMBER BY-THE-DAY

To celebrate the last 31 days of 2016 (which we can probably all agree was a doozy) I'll be documenting one thing (big or small, meaningless or meaningful) that I did that day.
  1. 1.
DECEMBER 1ST: IT'S THA FIRST OF THA MOOOONTH!
I open this month in typical fashion, with some Bone Thugs!
  2. 2.
DECEMBER 2ND: PLANNED A LIL MORE OF OUR INDOCHINA TRIP!
In February, my husband, his parents, and I are going to Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, Vietnam, and Singapore for a month! Super excited. Here's one of the places we'll be staying at!
  3. 3.
    DECEMBER 3RD: WORK TIME!
We run an Airbnb for a living, and it's a 6 bedroom/3 bath duplex so it's both busy and expansive to clean. We do all the cleaning because it's good 💰💰💰 and I'm a pro at cleaning and bed making (though this pic is a pretty shitty demonstration). AMA!
  4. 4.
    DECEMBER 4TH: MAD DOGS
This Amazon Prime show I just started watching! It's about four childhood buddies (including Steve Zahn and Romany Malco) that go to Belize to visit their other childhood buddy who's retiring, and, from there, utter chaos ensues.

    DECEMBER 5TH: ARRIVAL
So I went with the family to see Arrival tonight, and I was pleasantly delighted and surprised. I don't watch trailers or look things up before I see them in theaters, and all my husband said was "aliens" so I inferred another destruction violence CGI movie I would sleep though. Great cast, lovely plot, I really enjoyed the peaceful aspects of it (and I was proud of myself for figuring out the "twist" really early on). I would give it an 8/10, definitely recommend! 🚀🌌🔮

    DECEMBER 6TH: CLASSICAL PIANO CONCERT
Today is my grandpa's birthday, and he was really touched I wanted to do something for him since my grandma passed last year. I told him to choose what he wanted to do, so we got Italian food at one of his favorite places, and went to a delightful winter piano concert performed by the tremendously talented musician above, Jonathan Biss. It was really moving, and it felt good to do something I normally wouldn't do by myself. His performance of Beethoven's Sonata No. 11 was 🔥🔥

    DECEMBER 7TH: SURVIVOR WEDNESDAY
I'm a Survivor super fan. Survivor 33: Millennials vs. Gen-X has been crazy good and just gets better. The second to last episode before the three hour finale! What an incredible final 6 we have. Excited to see how this all unfolds!

    DECEMBER 8TH: NO MORE PICKING
I got a facial today (finally used the gift certificate I had) which was lovely, so I think it's an appropriate time to officially tell myself to STOP PICKING. I'm a huge picker. Pimples, scabs, skin, teeth, hair, etc. I'm really trying to stop picking my pimples (and their aftermath) and to stop touching my face in general. I'll take any suggestions with open arms. Wish me luck!

DECEMBER 9TH: RANDOM SONG OF THE DAY (J. COLE - FORBIDDEN FRUIT)
Since I didn't do anything too out of the ordinary today, I thought I'd give you guys a random song to listen to. Today's is J. Cole- Forbidden Fruit 🚫🍉

DECEMBER 10TH: MEMORIAL @ LAND OF MEDICINE BUDDHA
Today my dad, husband, grandfather, uncle, cousin, and I went up to this exquisite temple where some of my grandmother's ashes are stored to say a little "thank you prayer" and give our respects. I don't see my uncle and cousin much, so that was nice. I miss my grandmother every day, and I try to gain her perspective on decisions I make in my daily life. RIP Joanna, you're missed dearly. 🎋💐🌞

    DECEMBER 11TH: SELF-GRATITUDE DAY
This day last year was one of my worst yet. That being said, I feel like I've grown a ton over the last year, a come a long way. And I'm proud of that. Here's a reminder to always be proud of any personal growth- big or small. They say it takes a long time for a tiger to change their stripes, but I think stripes can change overnight if you have the right mindset and attitude. Believe in your free will, it's a lovely commodity we take for granted 💫🙇🏽‍♀️🐞🕸🏹🚀

    DECEMBER 12TH: 🌊☔️
I love my hometown. There's no place I'd rather live... in the US at least!
  13. 13.
    DECEMBER 13TH: RAINY DAY 🌂🐌🐾💨💦🌧
Going in a hot springs sounds nice right about now.
  14. 14.
    DECEMBER 14TH: SURVIVOR FINALE!
And we have a winner of Millennials vs. Gen-X! I feel so-so on the outcome, they were my winner pick before the season started so I'm proud of myself for that, and I did make a $50 bet with someone on reddit that this person would win but they went back and deleted their comment cause they lost thinking Zeke would win 🤑
  15. 15.
    DECEMBER 15TH: JUST A REMINDER
  16. 16.
    DECEMBER 16TH: UNTIL DAWN
Today I finished playing this video game, Until Dawn. I played it with my husband and our friend, Tyler, and I was incredibly fun! I'm not a video games person (closest thing I've owned to a console is a Gameboy) but the graphics were stunningly incredible and realistic. It's a choose-your-own-fate horror game with a theme of animals and spirits. Hayden Panettiere and Rami Malek are two of the main characters!
  17. 17.
DECEMBER 17TH: EXACTLY A MONTH AGO
Ito, Japan. Some of the best fresh fish I've ever had.
  18. 18.
DECEMBER 18TH: JUST IN CASE ANYONE FORGOT...
  19. 19.
    DECEMBER 19TH: TURKEY MONDAY
Gilda's, a staple on the wharf, does $10 Turkey Dinner Monday's, so you can Thanksgiving it up every week! It's pretty great, thanks for all you do Gilda's, you always have great service and such a welcoming, homey atmosphere! (This photo accurately depicts the amount of pepper I like on my food.)

DECEMBER 19TH PT. II: TOASTED MARSHMALLOW FLUFF ATOP PEPPERMINT ICE CREAM ON A HOMEMADE WAFFLE CONE
  21. 21.
    DECEMBER 21ST: HAPPY SOLSTICE!
I love the solstice, mainly because we transition from Sagittarius to Capricorn, a much more dependable, stable sign to be in for the new year!
  22. 22.
    DECEMBER 22ND: THEA TIME
Got to hang out with this lovely lady, my friend Thea! I (finally) gave her the birthday presents I got her in Japan, which included the SATANICAT: NINE LIVES • ALL MINE shirt she's wearing. She's big into cats and devil worship so it's perfect. She's also into astrology like me, so she loved her Scorpio cup 😋♏️
  23. 23.
    DECEMBER 23RD: HOME ALONE
So Rex and I are watching the two (I refuse to acknowledge the third movie because MC isn't even in it) Home Alone movies, and boy how I've missed them! Fun Fact: Rory Culkin, MC's little brother, plays bed-wetting Fuller in the movie 😉
  24. 24.
DECEMBER 24TH: CHRISTMAS EVE FAMILY PARTY
Tonight I went with Rex, my dad, grandpa, aunt & uncle, and cousin over to my dad's cousin's house (so his daughter would be my 2nd cousin, right?) and had a really lovely dinner and gift exchange. My aunt, a very classy lady, brought two bottles of 2004 Cristal. I'm not a big drinker, but champagne is the game of my game, and I must say, this was the best champagne I've ever had!
  25. 25.
    DECEMBER 25TH: HAPPY BIRTHDAY MARCO!
Today is my uncle's 46th, and we've had a really nice morning so far, with a nice breakfast spread of ham, bacon, eggs, and bread pudding, and my cousin (she's 11) enjoyed the present-opening extravaganza! Here is a picture of St. Cecilia, Patron Saint of Music. My grandfather loves her, and I admired the costume she's wearing (he always dresses her up differently), especially the chain coffee mug cooler hat thing! Happy Holidays all, stay safe and happy! 🌟
