The last two or three books I've read have been really great but emotionally heavy (Hausfrau, The Submission). I need something fun and lighthearted. Don't fret about length or genres - as long as it's a good story with a generally happy ending I'm in. I've seeded the list with my own suggestions but please chime in!
  1. The Royal We by @fuggirls
So charming and fun. If this list turns out to be a bust I'll just re-read this one (again).
  2. The Night Circus
Totally lives up to the hype.
  3. Born to Run
Not my usual jam and I'm not a runner, but I still liked this one a lot. When I was done I kept thinking "people are awesome!" so that was nice.
  4. Mr. Penumbra's 24 Hour Bookstore by Robin Sloan
Really fun. Creates a mysterious world of bibliophiles, techies and quirky elderly folks you want to inhabit.
