Another list I'm sure I'll be constantly adding to!
  1. Young Fresh Fellows 1986
At the Everett Community College with friends! We were young, free, high, and moshing the shit out of that crowd. One of the best memories I have of my high school years. I introduced myself to the Fellows after the show & they signed the beat-up record store poster I brought with me. ❤️
  2. Siouxsie & the Banshees 1986
At The Paramount! Siouxsie started the show by singing her cover of "Trust in Me." I was in the front row, and in Goth heaven...
  3. Depeche Mode 1988
The Music for the Masses tour, at the Seattle Center Coliseum (now Key Arena). Every time I've seen DM, they've been beyond amazing, but this time was mind-blowing. Screamed my face off from the first song 'til the last, and ended the show in a weeping, sobbing pile on the floor. Fun fact: I still have this concert tee! Saw one for sale at a hip thrift store for $75 recently and laughed so hard.
  4. Duran Duran 1989
The Big Live Thing tour at Seattle Center Arena with The Pursuit of Happiness! Screamed my head off the whole time & danced like a maniac to every single song. I even shelled out big $$ for one of those brightly colored t-shirts. Big LOVE for Big Thing.
  5. Billy Idol & Faith No More 1990
Halloween night at the Seattle Coliseum {now Key Arena}: 14,000 people, 95% of them in costume. Idol dumps 40 pounds of fish on Faith No More during their set; FNM retaliates by dancing naked on stage during Idol's encore. Amazing!
  6. Concrete Blonde 1990
...or possibly 1991: the Bloodletting Tour. This was either at The Moore or The Paramount. While I don't remember the specifics, I do remember being haunted by the performances, particularly the ending number of Tomorrow, Wendy with special guest Andie Prieboy. Gorgeous!
  7. The Posies 2000
I've been to many, many, many great Posies concerts, but this acoustic show at the Showbox with Jon & Ken is one of the best. It was mind-blowingly gorgeous & I'm so happy it was recorded - In Case You Didn't Feel Like Plugging In is one of my favorite albums of all time.
  8. OkGo & Fountains of Wayne 2002
I was at The Crocodile to see Fountains of Wayne that night, having absolutely no idea how hard & fast I'd fall for OkGo. The guy I was seeing came with me, and just after he gave me the "it's not you, it's me" speech, Damian sang "It's hard to have a crush when the boy doesn't feel the same way you do" and I disintegrated into tears. Don't worry: FoW managed to buoy my spirits by the end of the evening!
  9. Blondie 2006
Never had a chance to see her in the '80s, so when Blondie was announced for Bumbershoot I was STOKED. My friend Hanna & I shoved our way up front inside Memorial Stadium & sweated nearly to death in 95+ degrees, full sun -- and it was totally, totally worth it. Debbie Harry rocked my world.
  10. Peter Hook 2013
Decibel Fest! Peter Hook & The Light performing Power, Corruption & Lies and Movement at Neumos, which was INSANE. I'd never gotten to see New Order before and "Hooky" was SO.GOOD. Also, Moby showed up to sing some Joy Division at the end. I watch the videos I captured all the damn time.
  11. Goblin 2013
I'm not gonna lie: the crowd at Neumos kinda sucked that night. I got groped, glared at, body-checked, and bruised just trying to make my way to the bathroom & back. But this still counts as one of the best shows I've ever seen because it was the first time the Italian prog-rock legends came to Seattle & they played all my favorite Argento tracks. Really a once-in-a-lifetime concert experience.
