    my passport expired this week, and so I'm getting all nostalgic about the places we've been together. It permanently houses my study visa, a copy of the travelers prayer, and a horrendous picture of me in a time when I thought showers were passรฉ. RIP passport// burn in hell, picture ๐Ÿ”ฅ

    touring nazi concentration camps and symbolically marching from auschwitz to birkenau commemorating lives lost to hate. Highlights: strengthening my Jewish identity and digging into my polish roots [lowlights: this was a dark, heavy trip]

    Israel, 2006๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ฑ
    celebrating Israeli Independence Day with some of my best buddies. Highlights: praying at the western wall, drinking and smoking illegally on Ben Gurion Street, not getting kicked off the trip

    birthright. most people take this very seriously but my crew and I had just done that so we sat in the back of the classroom and giggled/ messed shit up the whole time. Highlights: not getting kicked off the trip

    had to go thru the airport to get to Europe, and I was 20. I drank my first legal beer. Highlights: spending 22 American dollar on a stupid, airport, draft Guinness

    Italy 2009 ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡น
    studied abroad in Florence, traveled throughout the semester and stayed after just so I could grow up and tell people I lived in Italy. Highlights: all the things, can't pick, I miss it every day, and being able to tell people I lived in Italy

    a tour through the French Riveira with a bunch of other first world bourgie young people. Highlights: wheels of cheese for breakfast and winning ๐Ÿ’ถ๐Ÿ’ถ t the Monte Carlo so that I may one day finally use that emoji

    met the boyfriend in Barcelona then flew back to his home in Madrid. highlights: museums, getting spectacularly lost only to find my own way, Spanish love affair

    two of my girlfriends and I explored Prague,ate so much food, and laughed all day. Highlights: not speaking the language, not holding any currency

    strolled through Paris with the boyfriend, being as disgusting and lovely as it sounds. Highlights: putting my art history knowledge to good use, fighting in Paris, and knowing now that I can look back fondly on a failed relationship, looking at my own reflection in a rain streaked window, thinking We'll Always Have Paris

    Greece 2009 ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ท
    traveled alone through Athens and Santorini looking at ancient ruins, met one of my girlfriends and her mom who were on a girls' trip, and made friends with a cat. Highlights: watching the only English TV channel playing se7en, alone, in a strange hostel with my new cat friend, this chocolate banana crepe that cured my seasickness on the ferry, and the whole damn country. I fucking love that place

    a summer long volunteer corps, living, learning, and rebuilding a rural Ugandan town. Highlights: little kids as fascinated by me as I was by them, realizing that the do-gooder volunteer life was ultimately not for me, discovering I want to work in health care

    living in Uganda, took an afternoon to explore Kenya. I was there for approximately one hour and I didn't get a stamp, BUT I AM COUNTING IT because I love Kenya. Highlights: KENYA

    laying over for 6 hours on my return flight from Africa. left the airport/ mall/ went thru customs and did the Amsterdam thing again. Highlights: I don't remember

    cabo'd at an all-inclusive, English speaking resort which barely counts as Mexico. Highlights: sunshine, bottomless foods, tequila dispenser in my bedroom

    Mexico 2015 ๐Ÿ‡ฒ๐Ÿ‡ฝ
    wandered around Mexico City and Oaxaca with a good dude, seeing the city, drinking it in, and also just drinking. Highlights: church bell tower tour, drinking the mescal worm ๐Ÿ›, and a cancelled flight which = a free round trip to MEX which will likely be my new passport's first stamp
