I'm not great at following instructions- so this is a list of epic covers- not just ones I'm into lately. Enjoy. I will try to make this a beats music playlist soon.
  1. Atlantic City- The Band
Bruce Springsteen originally recorded this song. I think The Band did it better.
  2. Fire- The Pointer Sisters
Bruce Springsteen wrote this. Not sure if it really counts as a cover. But it fucking rules.
  3. Here Comes The Sun- Nina Simone
Just love this version. Heart breaker.
  4. Mad World- Michael Andrews ft. Gary Jules
    Just too good
  5. Hurt- Johnny Cash
  6. Sea of Love- Cat Power
  7. Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds- Elton John
I love this version coz the first half doesn't mess with the already incredibly melodies, but as it goes around again Elton John makes some beautiful note choices that make me catch my breath.
  8. Take Me To The River- The Talking Heads
Tough task to take on an Al Green song and not reveal yourself to be less than worthy.... ✨
  9. Tainted Love- Soft Cell
This is just on here for those of you who weren't aware that this was, indeed, a cover. It was first recorded by Gloria Jones in 1964.
  10. Hazy Shade Of Winter- The Bangles
I love this cover. I'm not ashamed to admit that when I was a kid I didn't know this was a cover. 🙈
  11. Blinded by the Light- Manfred Mann's Earth Band
Another tune originally belonging to Bruce Springsteen. Who knew the Boss was so prolific? Fine. I did.
  12. People Are Strange- Echo & The Bunnymen
I first heard this song while watching the movie, The Lost Boys. So good. Also- I'm not afraid to admit I'm not a Doors fan. I'm sorry. I just don't care about them. I've tried. I really have.
  13. Always on my mind- Pet Shop Boys
    2003 remaster
  14. Fortune Teller- Robert Plant & Alison Krauss
Love this so much. (Stones cover)
  15. As Tears Go By- Marianne Faithfull
  16. We Can Work it Out- Stevie Wonder
Also All I Do- tammi Terrell recorded the original version of this song. Have to give mention to his beautiful cover of Dylan's Mr Tambourine Man. If you've ever seen Dangerous Minds that song is an important one to you, also.
  17. A hard rain's a gonna fall- Edie Brickell & New Bohemians
From the Born on the 4th of July soundtrack. Soooo good.
  18. Running up that hill- Placebo
  19. One More Time- Travis
  20. Against All Odds- The Postal Service
Boy do I love this cover.
  21. Hallelujah- Jeff Buckley
  22. Heartbeats- Jose Gonzalez
One would assume that this was the original. But The Knife version is. Both are awesome.
  23. Borderline- The Flaming Lips
Slow and steady wins the race
  24. Valerie- Amy Winehouse
A cover of a Zuton's song. This was actually on my brother's album first, but when it started to do well they tacked it onto a re-packaging of her album.
  25. Best of you- Stereophonics
Foo fighters cover on bbc radio 1's live lounge album. Love those compilations. Travis cover was also on one of those. They put them together every year. Honorable mention to: No Diggity- as covered by the Klaxons. Call me maybe- Ben Howard. Crazy For You- Groove Armada. In for the kill- Miike Snow.
  26. Day tripper- Otis Redding
  27. Girl, You'll Be A Woman Soon- Urge Overkill
Neil Diamond cover. Not really sure what the song is about. Could be a creepy pedo song. Could be not a creepy pedo song.
  28. Lover, you should have come over
    Natalie Maines

  32. Cassandra Wilson - Love is Blindness
    Haunting and lovely.
