TODAY I TOOK CARE OF MYSELF IN THE FOLLOWING WAYS

Been feeling like my life is really stagnant or boring lately (THANKS SEASONAL AFFECTIVE SHIT) so today I decided to remind myself I am not and never have to be MENTALLY stagnant even if my situation is making me restless
  1. I listened to a great episode of Another Round
    My favorite podcast (thanks @BuzzFeed !) always makes me feel like I'm laughing while learning. Today I listened to the Margaret Cho episode where she talks about the act of stand up comedy in itself being a feminist act and the empowerment of rage and a lot of other cool and enlightening things
  2. I watched Mercy Street
    GIVE ME MORE DRAMAS SET DURING THE CIVIL WAR YET ACTUALLY CENTERED AROUND WOMEN AND MINORITIES, PLEASE.
  3. I (almost) finished Americanah
    I have like 80 pages left I LOVE THIS BOOK SO MUCH it should be required reading for all it has so many good and important things to say about race and it's not afraid to say them and God bless Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie
  4. I had a great political conversation with my dad
    About the dem debate and how sad it is that a lot of people use the excuse of being "disillusioned with politics" as an excuse to remain ignorant to the actual intricacies of issues
