Things I wish people would have told me before I started college

  1. Start with a really high GPA your first semester of college...it'll only get worse from there and a slip up won't hurt you too much
  2. ALWAYS. READ. THE. SYLLABUS.
  3. Study groups really aren't for everyone. Don't think you'll do good on the exam just because you're studying with others.
  4. Sit in the front, if not close to the front.
  5. Take advantage of your professor's office hours and ask for help whenever you need it
  6. A CLASS WITH AN EARLIER TIME AND A BETTER PROFESSOR IS SO MUCH BETTER THAN A BAD PROFESSOR WITH A GOOD TIME OKAY (but👇🏻)
  7. If you aren't a morning person whatsoever, don't take an 8 am. You'll catch yourself skipping more than you should.
  8. Really truly think about dropping the class if you did poorly on the first exam or think you can't handle the work load
  9. Time management is e v e r y t h i n g
  10. It's okay if you don't know what major to go with your first year of college
  11. Make at least one buddy in each class to get notes from for days you can't make it to class
  12. Get ahead as much as you can with readings, homework, etc. You'll thank yourself later
  13. Some professors do take off points depending on your attendance, so beware
  14. Rate my professor is a blessing, use it for every professor you are unsure of.
  15. DO NOT DO A 7 PAGE PAPER ONE OR TWO DAYS BEFORE ITS NOTHING LIKE HIGH SCHOOL
  16. Don't order any books until your professor says you absolutely 100% truly need it. You'll waste $300 and open it once throughout the semester
  17. Take notes by hand and even rewrite them to help you remember them
  18. Freshman 15 is not a myth, take care of your body
