For a while I was the only woman on my team at work, here were some of my day to day struggles. These are so small compared to so many women, I want to hear stories
  1. People in the office handed out beers to everyone but me
  2. My boss said "we're at the 50 yard line with this" about a project I'm working on and I didn't know what he meant
  3. "She doesn't want to work with you because she thinks you don't like her"

  4. "Males just have better classroom management, there's nothing you can do to improve on this..."

  5. "You need to soften your approach."

  6. "A woman has never talked to me like that before." I was a manager and reprimanding someone so I laughed and said "get used to it!"

  7. Corporate America air conditioning being calibrated to suit the male body temperature since the 1960s
Hence the reason why women are always freezing at work

  8. Female academic department and program chairs were asked to call or email to notify unsuccessful candidates that they didn't get the job they had interviewed for, whereas male chairs were not asked to do so.
Who is expected to do the emotional labor?

  9. In my army office job I shared the same position a guy, yet our commander always treated me like his secretary, and only asked the guy for help with computer stuff. Also he called me the department's mother (just because I was the only girl there).
