My 20 Favorite Buffy Episodes, In Chronological Order

Today's the 20th Anniversary of when Buffy premiered! 🎉🎉🎉 Here are my favorite (not necessarily the best ones, but the ones I seem to enjoy watching the most) Buffy episodes to celebrate 20 years of this amazing show.
  1. 1.
    Angel (S1 Ep 7)
We find out that Angel's a vampire (that's not a big spoiler, I hope) and learn his whole backstory. And SO DOES BUFFY. YOU'RE IN LOVE WITH A VAMPIRE GIRL WHAT YOU GONNA DO ABOUT IT???
  2. 2.
    Prophecy Girl (S1 Ep 12)
Buffy learns that, according to prophecy, she will die in her fight with The Master. We also get Cordelia & Ms. Calendar joining the Scooby gang!
  3. 3.
    Innocence (S2 Ep 14)
    Two words: ROCKET LAUNCHER.
  4. 4.
    Becoming Part 2 (S2 Ep 22)
One one my favorite battle scenes. The end makes me cry. I also love the scene with Buffy and her mom arguing.
  5. 5.
    Lovers Walk (S3 Ep 8)
One of Spike's funniest episodes. Also love Joyce still trying to understand Slayers, vamps, & witches.
  6. 6.
    Doppelgangland (S3 Ep 16)
Willow pretending to be evil is still one of the funniest scenes of the show.
  7. 7.
    Enemies (S3 Ep 17)
I love a good Faith episode.
  8. 8.
    Earshot (S3 Ep 18)
This one deals with a school shooting and was controversial (it didn't air until two months after the rest of the season due to it being planned to originally air a week after Columbine) but it's 1) funny because Buffy can hear everyone's thoughts and 2) has a great/intense scene towards the end.
  9. 9.
    The Prom (S3 Ep 20)
Buffy finally gets her perfect high school moment! This episode makes me cry every time (damn Jonathan and that perfect speech!).
  10. 10.
    Graduation Day Part 2 (S3 Ep 22)
I love seeing the Sunnydale high students come together to conquer evil!
  11. 11.
    Pangs (S4 Ep 8)
I watch this every Thanksgiving. I come for the yam puns, I stay for Spike being attacked by arrows.
  12. 12.
    Hush (S4 Ep 10)
SO SPOOKY. The Gentlemen are terrifying and the Scoobies struggling to communicate without speaking is hilarious. This episode is basically a silent movie. We also get introduced to Tara in this one!
  13. 13.
Who Are You? (S4 Ep 16)
Buffy & Faith switch bodies in this Freaky Friday-esque classic!
  14. 14.
    Restless (S4 Ep 22)
Joss Whedon packed so many references to future seasons in this one episode and it blows my damn mind every time.
  15. 15.
    Real Me (S5 Ep 2)
We get introduced to Dawn (who most Buffy fans hate, but I happen to love). She narrates the episode while writing in her diary and it gives me some serious Harriet The Spy vibes.
  16. 16.
    Family (S5 Ep 6)
Amy Adams guest stars! And we get a whole episode about Tara, who I love.
  17. 17.
    The Body (S5 Ep 16)
Widely considered one of the best Buffy episodes for good reason. Gives me chills every time, especially Anya's speech.
  18. 18.
Once More With Feeling (S6 Ep 7)
Who doesn't love a good musical episode?!
  19. 19.
    Potential (S7 Ep 12)
Xander's speech at the end makes me tear up!
  20. 20.
    Storyteller (S7 Ep 16)
Andrew (one of my favorite recurring characters) narrates the episode and has a great scene with Buffy towards the end.
