With now 412 National Parks in the USA, there are so many beautiful and interesting places to experience our America. These are my favorites and why I love them.
- •Petrified Forest National Park - ArizonaIn addition to petrified wood, the park contains some amazing painted desert and magical blue mesas. I felt like I was on the moon. I will never forget those blue mesas.
- •Wright Brothers National Memorial - North CarolinaThis park is not only the location of the first ever powered airplane flight, but also the place where Wilbur and Orville Wright conducted hours, days, weeks, months, years of study to learn and develop their craft. Their patience, persistence and drive is an inspiration. I cry a little and learn a lot each time I hear a Park Ranger share the Wright's story.
- •Dry Tortugas National Park - FloridaOn a tiny island, about the same distance from Key West as it is from Cuba, I saw more stars than my mind could begin to process. This was also the first trip I took with my then good friend and now husband. He's been a pretty good souvenir.
