Best Album For Every Year Since I Was Born

I usually make funny lists, but I thought this one seemed fun. Besides one occurrence, I didn't duplicate any bands so these aren't specifically my favorite albums from those bands, but just for that year.
  1. 1992: Beastie Boys - Check Your Head
The only album from the year that I was born that I own, but the third B-Boy album is a great one to start with. Fun fact: this is the first album in which they played their instruments on every song.
  2. 1993: Nirvana - In Utero
Nevermind is one of the greatest albums of all time, but that came out before I was born. But this album is almost just as good in my opinion and would have made iron the list even if I liked any other albums from this year.
  3. 1994: Pulp Fiction Soundtrack
This is my favorite movie for probably hundreds of reasons, but one being the great soundtrack. So much surf rock and funk, Tarantino knows how to make a soundtrack.
  4. 1995: Oasis - (What's The Story) Morning Glory
I only know a couple songs (the ones everyone knows) from this but this isn't a big year in music for me. But it's still pretty good. The list gets better, I promise
  5. 1996: Weezer - Pinkerton
The best, and least appreciated, album from this garage band that made it huge.
  6. 1997: Shania Twain - Come On Over
Not kidding at all. This album is a good time.
  7. 1998: Beastie Boys - Hello Nasty
This is my favorite Beastie Boys album (tied with Licensed To Ill, of corse). Kind of their peak. The album is "so versatile"
  8. 1999: Sugar Ray - 14:49
There wasn't much going on those year either, but this album has Every Morning and Someday, so there's that.
  9. 2000: Linkin Park - Hybrid Theory
What an album! These guys killed it on their first two albums and totally deserved the instant fame from this.
  10. 2001: P.O.D. - Satellite
Another year with not many options but still a pretty good rap-metal album. Lots of hits on there.
  11. 2002: The White Stripes - White Blood Cells
The breakthrough album that let us all know that Jack White is a genius that will create great albums with many great bands for decades.
  12. 2003: Streetlight Manifesto - Everything Goes Numb
This album alone destroys all other Ska bands. No one does it like Tomas and the crew.
  13. 2004: The Hives - Tyrannosaurus Hives
    Fun. Weird. Perfect.
  14. 2005: Hot Hot Heat: Elevator
I have a specific memory of listening to this album everyday after school, eating Pringles, and not paying attention at all to my math homework.
  15. 2006: Showbread - Age Of Retiles
A lot of their fans hate this one for not being heavy but that's what I like about it. It's a good punk rock album with tons of references to snakes and lizards and that's fine by me.
  16. 2007: Arctic Monkeys - Favourite Worst Nightmare
This bad boy has been in my top 5 albums of all time since it came out. I know it backward and forward and it hasn't gotten old at all since it came out. These guys really made me escape the mainstream and find music that was a little more hidden and are why I like so much of the music that I like.
  17. 2008: UnderØath - Lost In The Sound Of Separation
The first hardcore album I ever bought and debatably their best one. Truly a masterpieces rom these guys.
  18. 2009: Relient K - Forget And Not Slow Down
Relient K has a huge discography of albums of a lot of different styles. Besides the songs on this album just being beautifully written and greatly performed, what sets this album apart is how the whole album acts as one piece. With all of the intros and reprises, I can tell a lot of attention was put into organizing this all just right.
  19. 2010: Norma Jean - Meridional
Probably the best still working hardcore band these days, this album is my personal favorite. This is where they finally perfected their mix of heavy and melodic and allowed them to experiment more on future albums.
  20. 2011: letlive. - Fake History
Once you discover this band, it is not easy to forget them. Such an original twist to modern hardcore.
  21. 2012: The Chariot - One Wing
Got this the first day it came out and loved it instantly. It was everything I wanted from my favorite band. Just perfect.
  22. 2013: The Fratellis - We Need Medicine
What a great cover, first off. But this album gets very under appreciated from fans. Don't know why because it's really great!
  23. 2014: Jack White - Lazaretto
The legend's sophomore solo album was good enough without all the special stuff that comes along with vinyl, but this is probably his best work yet. How could he get better?
  24. 2015: Hop Along - Painted Shut
It frustrates me so much how everyone hates this band. But this is another one of those albums that does not get old. Yeah, it's only been out for a year, but I've listened to it a hell of a lot more than some of the other albums on this list.
  25. 2016: Lake Street Dive - Side Pony
We're only half way through the year but I think this might remain the my pick when it's over. There are a lot of great ones that came out this year and are yet to come out but I'm confident that Side Pony will still take it.
