I've been an avid board game player for years. Here's my definitive ranking!
  1. 1.
This is hands down the best game I've ever played. The replay value is phenomenal. Because of certain cards, the game is different every time you play it. The game itself is fairly easy to pick up, but the strategies are complex and require a lot of planning, and very little luck is involved. The art is adorable and detailed. The farming concept is fun and realistic. 💯
  2. 2.
By the same makers of Agricola, Caverna is very similar in terms of mechanics, but a few elements like weapons and expeditions make the strategy different and exciting. The art is still great, and all the figures and pieces are realistic and adorable.
  3. 3.
This is a great game for sci-fi lovers. There are space exploration, space battles, and resource collection involved. The board is pretty unique, and the space battles are pretty fun.
  4. 4.
    Arkham Horror
A great coop game that has you and your companions battling Cthulhu and the like. A bit complicated, and it can take hours to play. But it is fun working together to defeat impossibly powerful monsters.
  5. 5.
    Race for the Galaxy
I love the sci-fi aspects of this card game. It's a great 2 player game, but can be played with more people. The artwork on the cards is great, and there is a cool story implied involving the imperium, rebels, aliens, and uplift species.
  6. 6.
This card game is actually best played online because it's a bitch to setup, as there are a lot of cards in play. Lots of luck involved, and the entire game can change with a single card. Resources collection is really unique.
  7. 7.
    Battlestar Galactica
Awesome coop game. The mechanics are complex and well-thought out, and is as close to the show as you can get. I love the little spaceship figurines.
  8. 8.
Betrayal at House on the Hill
This is a coop game for the most part, where you are all exploring a haunted house room by room, until one person turns into the traitor and uses monsters to fight the others. Really fun, but can unbalanced, and it's not really fun being the traitor.
  9. 9.
Carcassonne is a good party game because it's simple and doesn't involve a lot of pieces. Heavily based on luck.
  10. 10.
    The Resistance
This card game is perfect for large parties, and is best when played with the max amount of people (up to 10). It's all about bluffing, which can produce hilarious results.
  11. 11.
    Eldritch Horror
Like Arkham Horror light. Basically the same game, but less fun somehow.
  12. 12.
    Ticket to Ride
Great family game. Easy to learn, easy to play. Great for newbies.
  13. 13.
    Power Grid
Power cities using the energy source of your choice. I like the auction bit, and interacting with the other players on the map is fun. There is quite a bit of math involved (+ and *), though, so that's a downside.
  14. 14.
I've only played this coop game a few times, but it was a lot of fun trying to figure out how each role could contribute to the game, and is one of the few coop games where everyone working together is essential.
  15. 15.
    Space Cadets
This is a fun party game because it doesn't really involve strategy or a lot of thinking. Each person has a timed puzzle to solve that relies on the person that comes before.
  16. 16.
    Twilight Struggle
A 2 player game about the Cold War. Great for history buffs. Complicated and could take hours to play. I personally don't like the conquering aspect, and there is a large amount of luck involved. Can be pretty unbalanced too.
  17. 17.
    7 Wonders
This is a good party game, but there are only a few winning strategies, and replay value is low.
  18. 18.
Good card game, quick and easy. Reading people is key in order to guess which role each person chose.
  19. 19.
    Space Alert
This is a really cool coop game because it's played in real-time as you and a bunch of crew members on a spaceship face a crisis, and a recording dictates the events. But, the pressure often makes it so the loud, aggressive, person becomes the de facto leader and bosses everyone around.
  20. 20.
This is a card game that's easy to learn and pretty quick to play. The expansions provide good variation. But the winners are sometimes determined early in the game, and strategy is pretty similar for everyone.
  21. 21.
By the same makers of Resistance. This is also a card game of deception and bluffing, which is fun, but not quite as good as Resistance because of its simplicity.
  22. 22.
    Settlers of Catan
This is a great introductory game for newbies, and it extremely easy to learn. I like that you can barter for resources, but there's too much luck involved for my taste.
  23. 23.
    Puerto Rico
Played this once. Interstitial mechanics, but not very memorable.
  24. 24.
Interesting because you basically build your own board and have to piece it together like a puzzle.
  25. 25.
    Dungeon Lords
Played this once, didn't like it. That could be because the rules weren't explained very well, but it just wasn't much fun.
  26. 26.
    Small World
A fun fantasy game, but I didn't like the conquering aspect. You have to be really aggressive to win.
  27. 27.
    Dungeons and Dragons, Starter Set
This was the first time I had ever played D&D and I played it with other newbies. It was a little awkward, but I'd definitely be willing to play again with an experienced dungeon master.
  28. 28.
Fun dice game, addictive because it's so quick.
  29. 29.
Fun card game, kind of like mafia.
  30. 30.
Easy card game to play when you have a little time to waste.
  31. 31.
Like a puzzle. Good to play if you don't want to think a lot.
  32. 32.
This was a really fun storytelling game to play the first time around. A lot of creativity is involved. But the replay value is really low.
  33. 33.
Never really got this card game.
  34. 34.
    Kingdom Builder
Played this once, it was boring.
  35. 35.
    Thurn and Taxis
Like a more boring, complicated Ticket to Ride.
  36. 36.
Boring. Awful. It's about corporations. Need I say more?
