Steamed whole fish was a staple in my Chinese household growing up. It's DELICIOUS, and a totally underrated way of preparing fish. It's also really easy!
  1. Chop up fresh ginger

    About 2-3 tbsps
  2. Chop up scallions
    Static
    A bundle or two
  3. Get a nice fish
    Static
    I typically get pompano fish, which has a lot of meat
  4. Gut the fish if not already gutted
  5. Put about half of the ginger and scallions inside its belly
  6. Put fish on plate and steam it

    For about 10-15 min, until the meat is white and flaky
  7. Meanwhile, fry up the rest of the ginger and scallions in oil
  8. When the fish is done, take it out of the steamer and discard the steamed water that accumulated on the plate
  9. Pour the hot oil, ginger, and scallion mixture on top of the fish
  10. Pour some soy sauce over the fish
  11. ENJOY
