I've been lusting after a blanket scarf for awhile now. I found this awesome fabric & used this (http://momadvice.com/post/how-to-make-a-blanket-scarf#_a5y_p=2864818) as a guide. I was surprised by how little it cost & how quickly it was done.
  1. Find some flannel fabric. I got mine at Joann's. You'll know you have the right fabric because it's soft & the pattern is on both sides. Search for the plaid if you're having difficulty. Don't forget your coupon for the best deal. I paid only $12.28 for 2.5 yards with a 50% off coupon. You can also save money by using only 2 yards of fabric.

  2. Trim the fabric. The great thing about using plaid is that you can use the lines as a guide. Trim all four sides so they are even.
  3. Pull some threads to create fringe. The more threads you pull the larger the fringe. I went back & pulled some more because I like the fringe. I actually used my stopwatch & this seriously took only 26 minutes!

  4. Wrap up in your great new scarf! Now you can make 2 scarfs for every one you'd buy at the store.
