BADASS FEMALE CHARACTERS THAT I LOOK UP TO

  1. Mindy Lahiri
@mindy has created my favorite female character of all time. There's something about Mindy that makes me excited to be unapologetically myself, flaws included. She is not a perfect character. And this is why I love her. Mindy is so fierce and stylish and beautiful (and she knows it), which somehow transfers to me and makes me feel that way too. THIS IS AWESOME AND BADASS AND THE WAY WE ALL SHOULD FEEL.
  2. Hermione Granger
"Books! And cleverness! There are more important things - friendship and bravery..." You had all this and more, Hermione.
  3. Minerva McGonagall
Another Harry Potter character. Her life was vaguely shitty, to be honest, but what a badass person she was. Fighting Voldemort, the establishment when necessary (looking at you, Umbridge, you twat), and her own demons, all whilst educating young minds.
  4. Molly Weasley
LAST HARRY POTTER CHARACTER. Mrs. Weasley loved her family something fierce, but refused to take their shit. She's everything I hope to be as a mother. She also had undisputedly the best and most badass line in that entire series. (Which was said before killing Bellatrix, who was basically the worst.)
  5. Leslie Knope
Ah, Leslie. The woman we all aspire to be. She lifted up her fellow females in a way we all should. Her friendship with Ann was one for the books. We all have that person that we love more than life, and it's nice to see that manifested on TV (and it gives us something to quote at said person). Equally as importantly, she didn't let the sexism in her profession stand in her way. Get it, girl. "You're ridiculous, and men's rights is nothing."
  6. Brooke Davis
Hear (past, high school) me out with this one. One Tree Hill admittedly was vaguely ridiculous and overly dramatic, but if you watched Brooke's transformation from a snotty teenager into a fiercely loyal, independent, and loving woman, you'd probably agree.
  7. Liz Lemon
Another lady who was unashamed in who she was. I can relate to Liz as much as a 22 year old could, I suppose, because she's super awkward and would totally rather chill at home and eat an entire block of cheese than go out.
  8. Annalise Keating
This woman scares the crap out of me. If I ever met her I'd probably get awkward and say something inappropriate and her gaze would melt my flesh. There is no one I would want by my side more if I were to kill someone.
  9. Cristina Yang
Doctor. Tough but caring. Mean but in a way I dig. Basically everything I wish I could be.
  10. Brienne of Tarth
A woman killing it in a man's world. Absolutely is a Gryffindor.
  11. Olivia Benson
I don't think a comment is even necessary here. QUEEN OF ALL BADASSES.
