BEST THINGS ABOUT LIVING IN DENMARK

  1. Free healthcare
I mean, I'm too nervous to ever go to the doctor, but just the idea of being able to do it for free is a good thing
  2. Mads Mikkelsen
Look at him! Also, I once sat behind him all the way from Berlin to Copenhagen (which is like an hour by plane, but it still totally counts)
  3. Nikolaj Coster-Waldau
Jamie Lannister can get it. Once met him when I was shopping for juice. I was too in awe to say anything, but he was really good looking up close too.
  4. Our Queen once illustrated the Danish version of the Lord of the Rings
She's a huge Tolkien fangirl. How cool is that?!
  5. We get paid to study
Yes. This is a real thing.
  6. Universities are free
No student loans! (Lies: lots of students loans. Just not for tuition and stuff)
  7. Gay marriage is legal
  8. We invented LEGO
Okay, so this one guy did... But he was Danish, so it counts
  9. Bikes
Everywhere. Easy, fast and green way to get around! Especially in Copenhagen... It kind of sucks during the winter, though
  10. Our flag
It's one of the oldest flags in (at least) Europe (I think) and it's so pretty! We honestly use our flag for everything. Birthdays? It's there on the cake. Christmas? It's on the tree. At the airport! It's EVERYWHERE
