ALBUMS I HAVE LISTENED TO WHILE STUDYING

Listening to full albums while studying or writing essays always makes me feel better. Writing this has made me realise I am a huge music nerd :):) Feel free to give your recommendations πŸ’œ

The Kick Inside by Kate Bush
And Kate Bush's entire discography. She is my absolute favourite artist and her music inspires me even when I am writing an essay on the 1905 Russian Revolution

    2001 by Dr. Dre
I don't know what it is, but rap is perfect to study to. This album is a classic

    Moth Boys by Spector
As a fan of Spector and their excellent first album, I was super excited for Moth Boys, and it exceeded expectations. So good, so unique, so much angst. The lyrics are just perfect and Fred Macpherson's vocals will never not amaze me

The Desired Effect by Brandon Flowers
I am a huge Brandon Flowers fan girl. The Killers are one of my favourite bands and I adore Flowers' vocals and always poignant lyrics. His first solo album was good, but as soon as I listened to "Can't Deny My Love", I knew this would be 100x better. I am living for this 80s vibe

My Love Is Cool by Wolf Alice
I have fallen head over heels in love with this band. Every song on this album is perfect - from the lyrics, to the music, to Ellie Rowsell's chameleonic vocals (my queen πŸ‘ΈπŸΌ) Definitely one of my favourite bands and albums, and I will finally get to see them live next March, if I don't die of excitement first. (Ps if you like this album, check out their EPs which are also wonderful, and the band in general who are all wonderful people)

Twin Peaks Soundtrack by Angelo Badalamenti
I adore this show and a huge part of its unsettling, confusing atmosphere is this music. I love listening to film/tv scores when studying and this is one of my favourites. *song of note: Audrey's Dance - for the obvious reason that Audrey Horne is the best character in the show bar one (Agent Dale Cooper, obvs)*

    Illmatic by Nas

    Bill Evans jazz albums
When I used to go to school like what feels like an eon ago, Bill Evans was my go-to. For writing and art these modern days, Studio Ghibli piano YouTube hour+ compilations are wonderful.
