My kitchen sink has a leak. My landlord had heart surgery. He called a plumber to fix it. The plumber's grandma died. It has been a week. My counter is full of regular counter-dwellers as well as under-the-sink detritus. I hope he comes back soon.
  1. 1.5 boxes of kitchen garbage bags
The Costco version. They take up a significant amount of space.
  2. 2 lbs of Epsom salts
On second thought, this could go under the bathroom sink.
  3. Wasp and Hornet spray
Fairly certain this was here when I moved in.
  4. Pledge Floor Finish
From my past life where my kitchen had linoleum instead of carpet.
  5. Vase
Also from my past life when someone sent me flowers.
  6. 2 house plants
I am trying so hard to keep them alive.
  7. A bowl of little oranges
Does everyone call these Cuties? Maybe it's just me.
  8. A recipe box
I think it is starting to resent every other item for invading the counter space.
  9. One half gallon of Windex
It is embarrassing how long it took me to use the first half of the gallon.
  10. A pair of pink and white leg warmers
Clearly left there by a kid
  11. Lemon-scented Clorox wipes
    Also of the Costco variety
  12. Two cans of furniture polish
I don't even have that much furniture
  13. One half bottle of bleach
    Linen scent. Weird choice.
  14. Dawn dish soap
    About 2 fluid ounces
  15. Dishwasher pacs
    Again, Costco
  16. A 4-slot toaster
    4 slots is overkill
  17. A mixing bowl
Filled with rags and a sponge or two. Normally these are housed in a bucket. Now the bucket is holding the product of the dripping water line.
  18. Candle warmer
    With mulberry-scented wax
  19. Fortune cookie
Origin is a mystery, but it wasn't there 2 days ago.
