Little things that blow my mind

Words my mother always mispronounced or changed with her own version that I am only now discovering after my 1st year of legal adulthood (2nd of college).
  1. Pay Stub NOT Paste-up
They sound very similar and I never noticed until literally a minute ago. Pay stub makes sense but it will always be Paste-up to me. Maybe if I had an actual job I would have know this sooner??
  2. Wind Chill NOT Wind Shield
Actually imagined that the earth would shield itself with wind. Also my local meteorologists, well, not the best at annunciation. Chill just sounds lamer, like maybe it could survive adolescent vernacular but not hard core data.
