Reads of September – December 2016

Because my reading list was actually woefully thin this season 😕
  1. The Creeping Shadow (Lockwood & Co. #4), by Jonathan Stroud
As entertaining and witty as it is adventurous & creepy! ★★★★☆.
  2. The Thousandth Floor, by Katharine McGee
The twists and turns made for a fun ride, despite the excess of characters and points of view. ★★★☆☆.
  3. The Perils of Pleasure, by Julie Ann Long
    Intelligently written, but slooooooow.★★★☆☆.
  4. Illuminae, by Amie Kaufman & Jay Kristoff
A perfect blend of humor, high stakes, and romance. ★★★★★!
  5. Blood for Blood, by Ryan Graudin
Raw. Lyrical. Gritty. Powerful. Beyond epic. ★★★★☆.
  6. Akata Witch, by Nnedi Okorafor
Super fun!! Dynamic characters & imaginative setting, though with predictable outcomes. ★★★☆☆.
