As a 19 year old that seems to do a lot of reflecting...I often times think of what I would tell my 13 year old self. Fresh into the teenage years, bright eyed and hopeful. Now 6 years later here are some things I've learned.
- 1.Don't worry so much.I know it's hard sometimes to worry about whether or not someone is talking about you when you haven't done anything. I know it's tough to want everyone to be your friend. I know you want this to happen but then something completely different occurs. All I can tell you is that 6 years later you still worry a little bit too much but it's okay because you've at least started to worry about what matters.
- 2.Not everyone is going to be your friend.Like mentioned above, not everyone is going to be your friend and that's okay. Not everyone is going to want you in their life and that's also okay. What I can tell you is that you're going to meet a girl this year and she becomes your best friend. Also, you're still close to 2 friends from 4th grade and 2 from 6th grade. It's not all about quantity but rather quality.
- 3.Your relationship with your parents matters.Mom and dad get annoying but it's alright. Ultimately they want the best for you. They don't have to be your best friend because that's not their job. Their job is to parent and they've done a pretty great job.
