What Cures Your Bad Headaches?

Long story short...
  1. β€’
I get chronic migraines, I'm weaning off my prescription, and it's slowly killing my mind, body, and soul.
  2. β€’
I get a bad headache every day between 3:00-5:00, and I don't want to keep pounding the Excederin, bc that's not good for me. Also, I don't want to get myself into that rhythm, so that my body then thinks that is normal and begins to rely on Excederin every afternoon/evening.

What do you guys do/use/rely on/recommend for migraines/bad headaches? I need advice!
Nonprescription-related, bc I can't be on any meds from here on out as I get to childbearing stage of life. It can make any future kid all janked up πŸ˜πŸ™ƒπŸ‘ΎπŸ‘½πŸ˜‚πŸ˜…

    Thank you in advance, friends!

Okay, so I don't get migraines, but whenever I'd get headaches at work, I'd get up and do a lap around the office or go get some water. Getting away from my computer screen and hydrating seemed to help. Good luck!

Sometimes I get really bad headaches just behind one eye. A very cold washcloth on my eyes helps.

I'm a migraine sufferer, too, so I totally understand! Here's a couple of our of the box things I've used in the past when medication wasn't an option. I hope you find some relief soon! πŸ’›
Okay, I know this will sound crazy, and I thought it was, too, but it worked! More than once! Put an ice pack on your head/back of neck and put your feet in hot water, hot as you can stand. It's worked for me after sitting about 10 minutes, enough that OTC meds can get ahead of the migraine. I know, it's weird. And this particular yoga sequence has really helped me - https://youtu.be/hjpaKXVGphY.

I have a peppermint oil stick i'll rub on my temples to help with migraines. Not sure if it's actually working or it's just placebo but it does help sometimes.
Also: drinking lots of water, taking advil, and even eating spicy food (nothing fancy, just chips and salsa) has helped me before.

Face masks with herbs or buckwheat inside.
Either heat or chill, whichever eases the pain. Sometimes a couple bites of chocolate works (bit of caffeine and a little sugar). Also, I've had luck with ignoring the pain. Totally focusing my attention elsewhere, and the moment I think of the pain, I focus back on what I'm doing. My headache relaxes when I stop tensing up about it. Good luck! (I know that kind of pain all too well.)

I've had chronic migraines since I was a kid and so I've been through basically every treatment out there and I got to the same point where I just didn't want to do it anymore. If you want to avoid excederin take a more mild medicine like Bayer extra strength without the caffeine and drink a cup of mildly caffeinated tea.
Peppermint essential oil on your temples in conjunction can sometimes take the edge off to make them more bearable. There's a badger headache stick for that purpose but I haven't been able to find it to try it out yet! The old cold cloth over your eyes is a classic that can help. You can also heat up water or tea and put your face over the steam or add essential oils to a bath (peppermint or lavender are the most common for migraines)

It's a three step process. 1- eat a hand full of raw almonds 2 drink 1/4 a Gatorade and if that doesn't work 3- coffee, coke, any caffeine you can find. I don't know why the combination works but it does.

As a fellow migraine sufferer (with auras ⚑️, I feel you πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ
Bright lights are a trigger for me so avoidance first! But if I get one, a cup of coffee or tea, 3 ibuprofen and go lay down for at least a half hour. The worst is over in an hour with occasional rebound. Then I make some get takeout πŸ˜‰
