June on TCM

Here's some of the highlights on TCM this June
  1. Star of the Month Marie Dressler
    The top box-office star in 1932 and 1933. She won an Oscar for 1930's Min and Bill. The first woman on the cover of TIME magazine. 16 films Mondays in June.
  2. From Stage to Screen
    Michael McKean (This is Spinal Tap) and Annette O'Toole ( Smallville) host this 69 film festival every Wednesday and Thursday in June.
  3. TCM Spotlight: Billy Wilder
    Watch 16 ( 14 which he directed) of one of the quintessential writer-directors in film history every Friday in June.
  4. TCM Guest Programmer: Candice Bergen
    On June 14, Bergen chooses 4 of her favorite films: 1948's The Treasure of the Sierra Madre, 1967's The Graduate, 1953's The Earrings of Madame De..., and 1971's The French Connection.
  5. Veronica Lake and Alan Ladd Double Feature
    On June 12, TCM airs two of the four films Veronica Lake and Alan Ladd made together-1942's The Glass Key and 1946's The Blue Dahlia.
  6. Father's Day
    Father's Day is on June 19 this year. TCM will air Father of the Bride, but the 1950 one.
  7. Treasures from the Disney Vault
    On June 28, TCM and film historian Leonard Maltin bring you another installment of Disney movies and shorts. This time the series airs one of my favorites, 1961's The Parent Trap.
