THOUGHTS I'M HAVING WHILE READING FRANZEN'S "THE CORRECTIONS".

Got this book cheap at a bargain store. I remember how buzzy it was back in the day so I'm giving it a try.
  1. I don't think I'm cut out for "serious fiction." More like DEPRESSING fiction. Maybe it picks up, but so far all I can think is "yeah, this is gonna end sad."
  2. I've got 2 new comic trade paperbacks and I am finding it very hard to commit to finishing this weird family drama.
  3. Franzen is a good writer. I'm interested in what's happening and he's got great imagery. Also impressed with the level of detail he's put in.
  4. My sense of foreboding on this one makes me believe (even further) that I would not be able to do Foster Wallace's stuff.
