HORROR MOVIES AND IRRATIONAL FEARS

  1. Nightmare on Elm Street
Thanks to Nightmare on Elm Street I sometimes check my bedsheets for Freddy Kreuger claw marks.
  2. It
Nothing instilled a greater fear of shower drains like the thought of Tim Curry's Pennywise rise up from the insides of my plumbing.
  3. Christine
Walking alone to my car in a parking structure I sometimes listen and watch for the demon car that will take my life.
  4. Friday the 13th
Being sent off to sleep away camp from a young age, I would walk rapidly to my cabin in the dark and listen closely to any possible sounds.
  5. Urban Legends
The one that always got me was the one about the murderer stowing away in your trunk and slashing you while driving. Some times when driving I look behind and check if someone is flashing their lights at me and hope there isn't a killer in my trunk.
  6. The Langoliers
Sometimes when I'm flying and experiencing terrible turbulence I think the Langoliers are eating away at time and air.
  7. Poltergeist
As a small child I was afraid that our swimming pool was built on an ancient burial ground and refused to go swimming.
  8. Marshmallow stairs, deep pit in the bathtub and someone yelling TINA! from A Nightmare on Elm Street
These scared the shit outta me the most in that movie

  9. When I pass a blank tv screen or close my mirror I'm convinced I'll see a Signs alien in the reflection.

  10. Chitty Chitty Bang Bang
They fly into a village that catches little kids & put them in cells like the dog catcher.

  11. Poltergeist
The scene with the maggots... I still cannot see a maggot without getting chills up and down my spine. The combination of fear and grotesque is too much. I can't even look at the attached GIF.

  12. The Blair Witch Project
Never going camping in the woods. I was already set on that, but this made it a lifetime promise to myself.

  14. The little mermaid
I'm scared to death of mermaids. They steal, kill and have great hair. NOT. TO. BE. TRUSTED
