My Favorite Movies From Each Year I've Been Alive

Inspired by @victoriaedel. YOU GUYS it's so hard to pick just one! I also automatically disqualified all Harry Potter movies, because they would take up 8 of these years.
  1. 1994 - Forrest Gump
I used to own this on vhs. I've watched it approx. 1 million times. Also, such a solid soundtrack.
  2. 1995 - Now and Then
Such a good soundtrack!! I used to borrow this movie from the library as a kid all the time. It was the ultimate rainy day movie for me. It reminds me of eating pumpernickel bagels that my mom toasted on the stove for me.
  3. 1996 - Matilda
Tbh I'm such a Roald Dahl fan girl. This movie stayed so true to the book that some of the dialogue and narration is word for word. I love it.
  4. 1997 - Titanic
Ugh I have to go with this one. Remember having to switch vhs tapes halfway through because it was so long? Then this was the first dvd I ever bought.
  5. 1998 - You've Got Mail
It *was* the best romantic comedy of the year! I probably should have picked Saving Private Ryan (Vin Diesel?????) but I'm on a huge Nora Ephron kick right now.
  6. 1999 - Stuart Little
Lol apparently I haven't seen a lot of movies from '99?
  7. 2000 - Remember the Titans
I really can't sum up all my feelings on Remember the Titans in 500 characters. Ugh. I love it so much.
  8. 2001 - Wet Hot American Summer
Discovered it long after 2001, as most people did. In all fairness, though, I almost picked. Halloweentown II: Kalabar's Revenge
  9. 2002 - Lilo & Stitch
    🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
  10. 2003 - Uptown Girls
I was young enough to identify with Dakota Fanning while also wishing to be Brittany Murphy when I grew up.
  11. 2004 - Mean Girls
  12. 2005 - RENT
Tbh I know I'm not supposed to love this, but I do. So much.
  13. 2006 - Stranger Than Fiction
  14. 2007 - Hot Rod
  15. 2008 - The Boy in the Striped Pajamas
My favorite book ever, and honestly 2008 wasn't a great year for movies.
  16. 2009 - Inglorious Basterds
This was the first time I ever paid attention to the cinematography in a film and I remember being an awful high school freshman talking everyone's ear off about it.
  17. 2010 - Alice in Wonderland
Not a great movie year. But Helena Bonham Carter slays me.
  18. 2011 - The Muppets
I don't even care. This movie was real good.
  19. 2012 - Beasts of the Southern Wild
  20. 2013 - Spring Breakers
IF U DONT LIKE OR UNDERSTAND CAMPY MOVIES THEN HONESTLY GET OUT THIS IS SUCH A GOOD AND FUNNY MOVIE
  21. 2014 - Obvious Child
I didn't even bother looking at the rest of the movies released in 2014 after I saw this one. Second favorite movie of all time.
  22. 2015 - Inside Out
  23. 2016 (so far) - Zoolander 2
So so so very upset about how poorly this was received. I genuinely enjoyed it, but I also thought the writing was incredible. I hope more people appreciate it in time.
  24. This took me so long to make. Like a few days. I love so many different movies.
