In response to Trump's leaked conversation, many women (and others) on Twitter are sharing the story of their first assault. Trump CANNOT normalize his words and the kind of behavior he's advocating. It's assault. If you feel comfortable doing so, please share your experiences here, in an attempt to show how much this shit affects us.
  1. I was 17. A man followed me around the bookstore I worked at, touching himself. One of my coworkers noticed and told my manager, who threw the man out. My manager, exasperated, then asked ME why I hadn't said anything. I was in disbelief! And I was terrified.
  2. Sophomore in college. Went to a frat party where I didn't know a lot of people so I got very drunk. Met a guy there and brought him back to my sorority house. I told him I wouldn't sleep with him but he ended up assaulting me anyway. I don't remember what he looks like because I was so intoxicated. It was my first time.
    Thanks TRUMP!!!!!!

  3. Threatening note that was a "joke"
Neighborhood boys (I assume) taped a note to the outside of my bedroom window saying they were going to "pop my cherry." I was in middle school & didn't know what that meant. When I found out I cried so hard I almost threw up. My parents were out of town & the babysitter assured me that it was "just boys being boys." I never found out who did it & was always scared someone was outside my window after that. It wasn't a physical assault, but it was an assault nonetheless. I was young & terrified.

  4. Sixth grade. Steven Boos put his hand under my crotch as I went to sit down on the bus.
Found out later his Dad was a child molester.

  5. I was 19, and drunk. He pulled down my underwear twice, I pulled them back up twice. I pushed him off me three times, told him no. I blacked out, and when I came to he was inside me, leering at me from above. My body was numb, I couldn't move or speak. It was my first time. He raped me again about an hour later.

  6. Sorry this was actually my first. MY GREATEST REGRET 😕

  7. I thought my "first" assault experience was when I was tanning with my friends at the lake.
We were in high school and a naked man was hiding behind the bushes and masturbating AT us. We told the cops and he left, but he got in NO trouble.

  8. Not the first and not the last unfortunately..

  9. Turns out, I was actually assaulted around age 14 at a teen club.
I was wearing a skirt and a guy slipped his finger up the skirt and into my panties while we were on the dance floor. I literally just shoved him and told my friends it was time to go. It was so common that I didn't even fret about it afterwards. That pisses me off more than anything. This behavior was normalized. Everyone got fingered on the dance floor by strangers. Or "grabbed by the vay-anya. Thanks Trump! Here's a finger for u.🖕🏽

  10. I was 13.
I was in Nigeria circa Christmas 2004 and visiting my family. This was my second time going, yet I was two years old when I first went. I met a guy in the village (who I wasn't related to) and developed feelings for him. I only wanted him to kiss me and he eventually did - however he started to touch me in other places and I didn't know how to say stop. I was terrified. He also would try to grab my breast multiple times when I clearly moved away from him everytime he did so

  11. I was 13
He was 13. I still feel shame, I was wearing a skirt. I didn't know what he was doing and I tried to move but he stopped me and I froze. The next day he bragged to his friends and I went into complete denial.

  12. I was 16, in Brussels with my Aunt. She was at a conference so I was alone a lot. Walking back to my hotel one day, I realized I was being followed. I headed toward the center, went up and down multiple streets (busy, populated), in & out of stores...I couldn't shake him. He eventually cornered me near my hotel & kept talking at me for ~20 mins.
I finally got him to leave me alone by saying I was engaged. He never touched me - just physical menacing, really - & it took me years to realize how sick it was how lucky I felt for that.

  13. I'm saddened after reading these stories.
I was 13. A boy in my English class (who I barely knew) nonchalantly put his hand on my crotch under the table when we would sit in a circle for group activities. It happened at least 4 times. I thought maybe it was his way of showing me he liked me, but he never spoke to me. Like ever. I was too ashamed and scared to tell anyone. Eventually, we rotated groups and that was the end of it. But that shitty feeling never goes away.

  14. I met up with a guy in my high school basement to make out. He kept putting his hand around my throat.
I didn't know what to do. I wanted him to kiss me and that was just part of it? After he told me to wear a shorter skirt next time.

  16. I was 18 years old & went to a luncheon with the scholarship committee members from the Tuberculosis & Respiratory Disease association. I was one of two recipients selected to receive a scholarship. I remember that I wore my best outfit but I was so poor that I felt inappropriately dressed.
There was a reporter there for a local newspaper who was going to write about the event. After the luncheon as I was walking to my car he offered me a ride. I accepted the offer and then when we got to my car he slid over on the seat (we still had bench seats in the front back then) & started groping me! I was stunned at first and unable to react. But my arms were fighting him off and after a few minutes I was able to push him away. I jumped out of the car and never said a word to anyone. 😢😢😢

  18. I was 16 or 17 and at a party. A guy I went to school with but had never spoken to walked up to me out of no where and put his hand up my skirt.

  19. I was six years old.
My aunt used to babysit me every day after school. One day me and my cousin were watching TV when my older cousin called me into the bathroom. I walked in, his pants were unzipped. He told me if I touched him, he'd give me some candy. He said not to be afraid, his sister does it all the time. I ran out and never said a word. I wish I had been brave enough for his sister.

  20. 15 at rehearsal for the school musical.
We were doing an exercise where everyone was assigned a number and we walked around the stage. When she called your number, you had to collapse and someone had to catch you. When it was my turn, the guy who caught me put his arms through my armpits and his hands on my breasts.

  21. I was 20, at the Halloween party of one of my flatmate's parents. A bunch of us were sitting around a fire pit when a friend's very drunk boyfriend sat down next to me, put his arm around me, & grabbed my boob. I was so shocked & scared, I just froze. Another friend's boyfriend pulled him off me, but I just sat frozen for several more minutes.
No one in our friend group ever mentioned it again. I don't even know if he or anyone else in the group remembers it, but I will never forget it.

  22. A full between-the-legs grab from behind as I was walking out of a party. I whipped around and screamed "don't ever fucking touch me!" And when I turned around to walk out he kicked me hard on the back of my thigh.

  23. I was staying at a hotel and late one night I was walking from a friend's room back to my room.
A guy followed me, cornered me at my door, tried to push his way in, physically forced me to kiss him. When I finally got away I ran back to the friend's room and ended up having one of the guys in there walk me back to my room. The guy that had attacked me was sitting and waiting, and followed us back to my room. I locked the door to my room, sending my friend back. Ten minutes later my attacker started banging on my door. I was terrified and called the friend who had helped, who ran back.
